Solana Beach, CA, USA

Description

Stella Angels is a female-focused angel investment network based in the United States that invests in and supports women-led and gender-diverse early-stage startups. The group brings together accredited investors to deploy capital, mentorship, and network access into companies addressing large, scalable markets.

Pre-Seed / Seed: Core focus — early rounds where angel capital accelerates product, traction, and fundraising readiness.
Early Series A: Selective participation through follow-on investments by individual members.

Typical Investment Size: Individual member checks commonly range $25K–$100K+, with group participation often aggregating $100K–$500K+ in a round.
Equity Taken:
• Stella Angels does not publish a fixed ownership target.
• Equity is negotiated deal-by-deal, consistent with angel group norms.
• Founder-side expectation: in typical angel/seed rounds, total dilution across all investors is often ~10%–25%, with Stella Angels’ participating members holding minority stakes proportional to their capital.
• Individual angel ownership is usually single-digit to low-double-digit percentages, depending on valuation and check size.
Equity Structure: SAFEs, convertible notes, or priced seed equity.
Governance: Board or observer rights are not standard and are negotiated only when appropriate.

Submission Method: Founders apply via Stella Angels’ website or through referrals from members and ecosystem partners.
Pitch Access: Selected companies are invited to pitch to the angel membership during scheduled sessions.
