Description
Madworks Accelerator by StartingBlock is a 12-week, mentor-driven accelerator located at StartingBlock Madison in Madison, Wisconsin, designed to help early-stage founders scale their startups and prepare for growth and investment readiness. The program combines education on legal/financial/governance fundamentals with regular mentoring sessions and strategic resources, all within a supportive ecosystem. Accepted teams gain grant funding, co-working membership, and hands-on support without giving up equity.
Eligibility
• For-profit early-stage startups based in Wisconsin with validated target market and working prototype/MVP.
• Founders must commit to regular in-person programming at StartingBlock Madison.
• Companies should have the ambition and pathway toward scalable growth and first-time funding events.
Process
Application & Cohort Selection: Founders apply online; the cohort is capped (often ~8 companies).
12-Week Accelerator Programming: Weekly group sessions focus on startup fundamentals (governance, financials, fundraising prep, legal basics).
Weekly Mentor Sessions: Individual mentor meetings tailored to each company’s challenges and milestones.
Grant & Membership Benefits: Teams receive a $5,000 grant, 1-year StartingBlock membership, and continuous access to mentors and workspace.
Follow-Up Learning: Post-program sessions help sustain momentum and prepare for next steps.
